A talented photographer and generous mentor for enthusiasts and up-and-coming photographers, Chris McLennan is a Nikon Ambassador based out of New Zealand – but his assignments and adventures take him to more than 45 countries (and still counting!) to capture amazing, travel, wildlife, tourism and adventure photography. His award-winning images have been published worldwide and his photo tours sell out quickly and earn extreme praise from participants.
Chris is the creator of YouTube sensation "Car-L meets the Lions", a behind-the-scenes look at a shoot in Botswana. It is very worth the 4-minute view! In 2012, Chris released the "PhotoTorial" app designed to help users become successful travel photographers. And in that spirit of mentorship, he created the "Travel Photography Awards" in 2013, an online competition that rewards winners with gear prizes and an all-expenses-paid trip to French Polynesia for the first-place amateur winner – with Chris as the guide.
"I really trust these bags to look after my gear. I've got a major investment in my equipment. I know that I can trust this bag to keep it dry, keep it from being damaged, to just keep out all of the elements. It's very important. I mean, my gear is my livelihood and if it's not in good condition, if it's not working, then I've got no job basically."
